Another election has come and gone resulting in some new union officials joining the ranks. It is our sincerest hope that they will add fresh eyes and vitality to the mix. Also, we would like to thank those who had served previously for their dedication and service to the membership, and hope that although they are no longer elected officials they continue to do their best in support of the union. Lastly, let us offer all of our elected officials our sincerest congratulations, may they serve with integrity, always have the best interests of the Brotherhood at heart while fulfilling their duties to the utmost of their abilities.

*Newly elected Local officers will officially begin their terms on November 1st.

"Those who would destroy or further limit the rights of organized labor, those who cripple collective bargaining or prevent organization of the unorganized, do a disservice to the cause of democracy".

-President John F. Kennedy

"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

-President Abraham Lincoln's First Annual Message to Congress, December 3, 1861.

 Rights and Fairness of Labor

"If capitalism is fair then unionism must be. If men have a right to capitalize their ideas and the resources of their country, then that implies the right of men to capitalize their labor."

-Frank Lloyd Wright
